Charley Harper: Blackburnian Warbler Small Boxed Notecards
American artist Charley Harper loved birds. To accompany the image of his Blackburnian Warbler print in Ford Times, he wrote: “The Blackburnian shouts, ‘Here am I—count me.’ He is one of Nature’s specific statements, never to be dismissed as ‘some kind of a warbler.’”
A practitioner of “minimal realism,” Harper reminded viewers that his painting “is a picture which gives me a chance to share with you my thoughts about the bird.” Perhaps this notecard will inspire you to share your thoughts with one you count as a friend.
